Elm Tree Farm Accommodation


Merv and I welcome you to Elm Tree Farm, and hope you have an enjoyable stay at our family farm.

We have prepared this information for your convenience, however if you require further information or have any question please do not hesitate to contact us.

Check-in is 16.00h and check-out time is 10.00h and we ask that you leave the accommodation clean and tidy. If you would like a later check-out, please ask and we will accommodate you if possible


When vacating the property please

Strip the beds and leave sheets in the bath tub or shower tray, along with towels.
Empty all rubbish into the out side bins (please uses re-cycling where possible)
Clear the kitchen surfaces of dirty crockery and cooking utensils. It is fine to load the dishwasher on departure and set it to run a cycle.
Leave the key in the lock on the outside of the door (we know you have checked-out)

Fire Procedure - ALL OUR UNITS ARE NONE SMOKING -If you would like to smoke we ask that you use the ash trays provided and respect all of the guests by not smoking near opened windows or doors.

All of the cottages are fitted with smoke alarms, fire blankets and fire extinguishers. On arrival please familiarise your selves with their location. Please act sensibly and where possible avoid unnecessary risk of fire.  The fire assembly point is in the car park.  In the event of a fire. If it is a small localised fire use the equipment provided to extinguish the fire or prevent any further spread. If this is not safe to control the fire, evacuate the building, closing windows and doors if possible.

Warn other guests of the situation and assist any less able people to the fire assembly point. Contact the local emergency services by ringing 999, our location is MK19 7BE. Please contact Merv’ or Lucy as soon as safely possible.

Local Pubs -The Navigation Inn Thrupp Wharf 01908 926270 (75m 10 steps!!) Breakfast is now served at the Navigation Inn pub, directly opposite Elm Tree Farm.  It has an extensive menu and is open from 8am.  If you would like to have an evening meal in The Navigation Inn, we strongly recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment, especially at the weekend

All of these walks a via the tow path of The Grand Union Canal, distances and times are approx, or of course they are accessible by car!

Take away- There are an abundance of Takeaways in Stony Stratford, and some of these offer free delivery to Elm Tree Farm

House Keeping is not available during your stay unless on request or to fix a reported maintenance issue, a member of staff will only enter a cottage on the guests request. If a member of staff is requested to enter a cottage whilst the unit is occupied, the team member will be wearing PPE and the guest will be asked to open all the windows and vacate the cottage so social distancing can be maintained.

A soft brush and mop/bucket and hoover are available, please ask if these are required. We do not provide any cleaning chemicals.

For your convenience we provide toilet rolls and a kitchen roll to get you started, it is the guest’s responsibility to replenish them if necessary.

High touch area cleaning has been heightened, this includes; switches and electronic controls; all door handles and knobs; remote controls; bed and bedding; hard surfaces; kettles, glassware, and all kitchen implements. All room keys will be cleaned between guest stays.


Linen

All of our duvets and pillows are non allergic, with 50% cotton, 50% polyester linen. The linen and towels are changed once a week, but if you require a clean set please ask.  

Laundry room

This is situated at the top left hand side of the courtyard garden and is for the use of our guest only. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer, both of which take £1 coins. There are indoor drying line for our guests use in the laundry room, alternatively help yourself to a portable cloths horse to use in your cottage.


Heating

The heating is set to 18-20 degrees and is controlled by a room thermostat

The heating is set to come on at 0530h - 0800h  off during the day and back on at 1630h - 2300h

Please advise us if you require the heating to be set to different times.

Extra blankets are available.

Lights

All of our lights are fitted with low energy bulbs.

Please conserve energy and remember to turn lights off. For your convenience the external lights are on dusk until dawn. In case of a power cut there is a torch provided in the cutlery draw. All the accommodation is fitted with emergency lighting


Rubbish and Re-cycling

We provide bin in the car park for our customers use. We have recycling facilities.

WE ASK THAT ALL BINS ARE EMPTIED ON DEPARTURE


There are waste bins in the car park for the customers use.

Large green bin and black bin is for general waste, 

Large and small blue bins are for recycling only NO PLASTIC BAGS.

The small green bins are for garden waste ONLY and for staff use.

Dogs at Elm Tree Farm


We only allow dogs by prior arrangement and there is an additional charge. We ask that you respect the following house rules.

Dogs are to be kept on leads at all times, including in the courtyard garden and car park
Your dog will not be left unattended in the property. We have the right to access the property and remove the dog for its own welfare.
We do not permit dogs on the furniture or the beds.
We do not permit dogs upstairs in accommodation which is over two floors.
The owner must provide suitable bedding for their dog.
The owner must provide suitable feeding drinking bowls for their dogs. Under no circumstances should the crockery provide be used for the purpose of feeding/water vessels for the dog
The dog will not be a nuisance to the other guests, staff or our family.
The dog will not be a  danger to our animals, including livestock, poultry and the resident dogs on the farm
All exercise and toilet activities are under taken off the farm. Please do not use the holiday-let garden and/or the orchard to relive your dog. There are numerous public foot paths adjacent to the farm.
Any fouling anywhere on the grounds of Elm Tree Farm must be cleared up
During mid stay cleans, you will be asked to remove your dog from the cottage (you will be advised on which is your cleaning day and the time can be at your convenience)

If we believe that these rules have not been adhered to then you may incur additional cleaning charges. If the dog has been in the bedrooms or on upholstered surfaces, including the bed you will charge for additional cleaning costs including professional cleaning if necessary.

We ask if guests have visitors with dogs that they are left in the car and not brought on to the farm.

If you dog displays antisocial behaviour at any point during your stay, you will be asked to remove your dog IMMEDIATELY from the premises. If this results in the owner having to seek alternative accommodation, the costs will not be refunded.

All of replacement items incur a set administration fee of £10.

Additional cleaning on check out (if not left as it was found) is charged at £15ph
